Confused by all the words and abbreviations in the NIR industry.
We'll try to explain things...
'NIRS' - Near Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy. NIR spectroscopy is the measurement of the intensity of the absorption of near infrared light by a sample within the range 700nm - 2500nm. NIR instruments use either part of, the whole, or ranges that include this region.
'Reference method' - this is an ISO, EN or otherwise internationally recognised and validated analysis method which gives the 'true' or 'assigned' value of the parameter to be measured, including the measurement uncertainty.
